My brother likes to watch specific anime shows. If he knows that he’s going to like it, he’ll watch it. He knows what he likes and stick to it. That’s not bad. Me, on the other hand, I’ll give almost all shows a try. I usually follow the three episode rule with watching any show. There were two shows that I can remember vividly that I introduced to my brother and they were Yowamushi Pedal and That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
I wasn’t sure if my brother was going to like Yowamushi Pedal. I was just so excited about the show and wanted to share with someone. I’ve already finished the first season and had already seen a couple of episodes of the second. I forced him to watch the first couple of episodes of the first season. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Something about the character of Onoda makes you relate to him. Anyways, my brother got really into it and we binged watch to the end of season 2. We had to wait a few months for the 3rd season to come out and we watched a couple of episodes of that. During that time, my brother moved and we haven’t watched it since. Which is sad on my part because I really love that show.
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is a recent show that is just finished. I’ve read the manga and knew what I was getting into. I mentioned to my brother and he was intrigued with my description of a guy that dies and is reincarnated into a slime and slowly obtain massive powers in a new world. I also forced him to watch a couple of episodes and now he’s done with the show! I’ve only watched a few. I’ve been slacking on watching new show, but it’s just funny that my brother is really interested in it. He tells me where they’re at and I remember through the events in the manga.
Have you forced someone to watch a show and made them get really into it? Or maybe someone introduced a show to you?
